tv   The Ingraham Angle  FOX News  June 20, 2023 7:00pm-8:00pm PDT

7:00 pm
but that is all the time we have left this evening. senator tim scott, thank you for coming and doing this. we appreciate it. thank you for joining us at home from beautiful myrtle beach, south carolina. thank you for joining us. have a great night. hi everyone. i am laura ingraham and this is "the ingraham angle" from washington tonight. sensor and control is the focus of tonight's angle. biden on the left are under siege. the new cnn poll that just came out showed biden's favorability at its lowest point of his presidency at about 32%. now that's a drop that occurred from the weeks from may to june. of course we learned that an informant reportedly allege that
7:01 pm
biden accepted a $5 million bribe from ukrainian oligarch the order of burisma. 83% of voters in the new harvard harris ex-bulls believe that the fbi should make that file public. it's not just the scandals either. biden's approval numbers that on the issues that matter most are still upside down in the category. 62% of the category say we are on the wrong track as well. if america is a car, the dashboard warning lights are all flashing red. on edge about the future? the american people know that this really isn't the same country they grew up in. since the george floyd riots young people believe they can wreak havoc with no consequences as they did over the juneteenth holiday weekend in la. [ bleep ]
7:02 pm
>> they stole the cash register! my god! >> more on other weekend celebrations later in the show. meanwhile, as the chaos unfolds here, our beloved president can barely speak without some strange verbal interlude. >> all right. god save the queen, man. >> or find his way off the stage without a helping hand to guide him. and all the while he continues to give off creepy grandpa vibes. >> thank you, thank you, thank you. >> move that hand, joe. the democrats in the big tech and media allies know things are desperate. the tactics that they are employing are reflecting this desperation. if it means providing an exit
7:03 pm
ramp for the president's son to avoid jail time for a crime that any conservative would get jailed for, they are going to do that. for failing to pay about a million bucks in taxes. hunter biden agreed to plead guilty to two misdemeanor charges. it turns out if you are connected and you have the right political views, you can also lie on your background check paperwork when you by a firearm. that all goes away if hunter completes two years of probation. as shocking as it may be, the media believes it is time to move on. >> they call it the biden crime family. they've gotten money from foreign entities illegally. none of that has been proven. there is no evidence of that. >> the republican response that there are two tiers of justice. we cannot say this enough. there is no evidence to prove that at all. remember in the media looking for evidence they use to probe questions that are outstanding
7:04 pm
and be interested in what whistleblowers had to say? but they do think, i believe that they can repeat 2020 when they dismiss the biden laptop story as russian disinformation only to confirm its authenticity after the election. remember big tech swooped in to help sensor the story? and then the same moves that they did now are being made now. there is no interest at all in figuring out how on earth the bidens got so rich. the goal is to hold onto power or get power by any means necessary. and the playbook is the same every time. washington develops its preferred narratives. the media reinforces it and attacks any critics and then social media companies block opposing views as dangerous disinformation. >> it can be dangerous to the health of the nation.
7:05 pm
disinformation dissuade people from making use of what could be life saving preventions like vaccinations, wearing a mask. it's not even just disinformation. this is an antiscience empire and we need homeland homeland security and the justice department. >> homeland security? they are protecting their purchase, their positions and credibility. but both had to know that much of what they were saying then was false. just today the wall street journal reported that among the three chinese researchers who grew sick with covid like symptoms back in december 2019, november 2019, they were working on coronavirus research at wuhan. one of them was actually funded by the united states. it turns out official washington would rather trust china to conduct exceptionally risky research then actually trust the american people with the truth.
7:06 pm
this is one of the biggest scandals of all time. they want to limit your exposure to actual facts, to the truth. they want to do it everywhere. we are seeing it play out now even in movie theaters after pressure from pro trans radicals. theater chain amc backed away from showing a documentary about dee transitioning. they need to punish the truth tellers. they need to reward the frauds, which is exactly what happened at the prestigious mayo clinic where a professor had the nerve to say that testosterone improves athletic performance. now for that statement, he was suspended. look at how the media reacted after that cnn town hall where trump didn't allow the host to steamroll him. >> truly stomach turning. the thing that gave me an actual feeling like i was punched in the stomach where the reports of the crowd. >> what i saw last night was as chilling as anything i have seen
7:07 pm
on television since january 6th. >> what does that mean? that the defenders of democracy won't cover the current front runner at all? msnbc apparently is floating the idea of doing a tightly controlled trump town hall. you know, democracy is so at risk that they need to clamp down on free expression because the people might not be able to properly process it. >> let's say the candidates are joe biden versus donald trump. i would argue it's not only just whether voters reflect on what joe biden has accomplished. are they afraid of what donald trump would do if he returns to the presidency. in any normal election those thanks matter. i think the crisis is so key and essential. i think in so many voters minds democracy is on the line. >> what a blowhard. the crisis is so key and so essential. the crisis were most americans
7:08 pm
is whether they are going to be able to pay their bills this month, matt. the crisis is caused when we don't have a media that calls balls and strikes. at least it's exacerbated. instead we have a media that just chooses to who gets to be heard and who needs to be silenced. just look at what they are trying to do to another threat to biden. rfk junior. they are pulling down his videos from youtube. that is a shock. that should count as some kind of in-kind contribution to the biden campaign. who needs to campaign at all if you are biden win big tech is going to run interference for you. >> rfk junior has a surprising amount of support. that has given him a platform on antiestablishment podcast. >> he is a crank. >> anti- vaccine conspiracy theorists only serve to elevate and legitimize their ridiculous and dangerous claims. >> no debates. no debates at all.
7:09 pm
it's not just rfk junior that they don't want to debate against joe. they are going to pull out all the stops. i see this building already to prevent any debate involving joe biden at all. every day the establishment reveals itself. right now they have a death grip on power. and they have biden in the oval office. he is a willing dupe and an easy dupe. they want to keep it that way. all those words, the protesters have scrawled on their signs, like equality, peace, justice, love. they should wrote them all in a wilmington second if it means holding onto the white house. they are going to do anything required by any means necessary. now we have a year and a half to take the country back. it will not be easy. but at least we know now what we are up against. and that is the angle. joining us is ari fleischer,
7:10 pm
former white house press secretary and steve miller former advisor to president trump. stephen, why aren't the bidens being prosecuted for the hundreds of thoroughly documented instances in my few of criminality found just on hunter's laptop. why? >> well, i think we can all agree, laura, if paul manafort had hunter biden's laptop he would have been taken to a cia black site and never seen again. the reality is there are enough crimes documented on that laptop combined with what james comer has uncovered in terms of the elaborate influence peddling scheme and the web of llc's to shield foreign income from scrutiny, to be able to bring the hammer down on hunter. if you want to get to the bottom, this is the most important point that i will share with the audience. if you want to get to the bottom
7:11 pm
of what joe biden has been up to in exchange for all that cash, he would sit with hunter and say we have enough information and evidence here to put you in jail for 100 years, 30 or 40 or 50 counts the way that they do to republicans. the only way out, hunter, is for you to give a full and complete accounting of the big guy in the everything. they wanted those answers. they would get all of them. the hole point of the sweetheart plea deal was to make sure that they don't get those answers and they protect joe biden because doj is interested in one thing and one thing only. protecting himself. joe is protecting doj so they are protecting him. it is that simple. >> your take on this? why are the media so invested in this protection racket? they are supposed to be sometimes curious about what people other than donald trump have done in their political lives, but not here.
7:12 pm
why? >> because the deck is stacked. the press has become an activist. if they were to hold joe biden into the same standard they held donald trump, they would have to have a feeding frenzy against joe biden. and it is no longer in their constitution to do so because it would help donald trump. they won't do that. the truth is thrown overboard because they are activists. just last week joe biden said i have never, not once, told the doj who to prosecute. they could easily roll the tape to when joe biden said anybody not cooperating with the january 6 committee on congress should be prosecuted. the next day he had to take that back. but he did say it. when he said his son has done nothing wrong, that is interfering in the justice department investigation. when joe biden said i have never discussed business with my son and was contradicted by e-mails, photos and reporting is contained on his son's laptop.
7:13 pm
why didn't the press call him a liar? the press is in the tank and what republicans have to do is build their own institutions and communication methods because you cannot any longer count on the american media to be neutral or fair. >> just like before the last election. no one knew about the hunter biden laptop story. that is how they helped propel joe biden to the presidency. to the point that are remade, i want to read this nauseating opening from peter baker in the new york times. no subject may be more personally painful nor politically problematic for president biden than his troubled son. he is by all accounts a gaping wound in his heart and the most sensitive soft spot in his campaign armor. stephen, that is exactly how they cover a story affecting a front runner republican, right? very sympathetic. >> the bias is so out in the open, it is so obvious that they
7:14 pm
take no effort whatsoever to even conceal it anymore. they are propaganda press for the regime in power. this is a story, laura, fundamentally about pay for play, about influence peddling, about a corruption scheme that goes to the heart of our government. this is about what did joe biden do year after year to justify foreign governments funneling millions of dollars into his family's bank account? hunter has all those answers. they could have gotten every single one of them under oath if they wanted to. but instead they cut a deal designed to immunize the biden family and joe biden in particular from scrutiny when they should be bringing witnesses in front of a grand jury to find out what joe biden did for all that money. now it's left to house republicans and james comer to build up that roadmap so that a new doj can pick it up in 2025. >> now that hunter has reached this excruciatingly difficult
7:15 pm
plea deal, here is what the media wants republicans to do. say that the developments in the hunter biden case today have a ring of exoneration for the president's son and in some small ways for the president himself because of the attacks that house republicans have made. republicans need to take the loss in the hunter biden probe. it's time for them to move on. >> again, no probing about foreign influence in the middle of this proxy war in ukraine. obviously this involves the ukraine with the prosecutor and everything else we know. china is moving in and we will get into this later in cuba. china looks like they could have been involved in sending money biden's way. there is no interest or curiosity at all. >> yeah. what i am curious about is the prosecutor in this case the u.s. attorney for delaware said the case is not finished. yet hunter biden's lawyer believes the case is closed. if it is not finished, what is
7:16 pm
left? is it the allegations about corruption and business dealings they are still looking at? let's hope so. when you look at sandy berger, bill clinton's national security advisor who went to the archives and stuffed information in his sock and got a misdemeanor. hillary clinton had top-secret documents on her server at home. all hackle bowl by enemies abroad. she didn't get prosecuted. and then you look at hunter biden, misdemeanor. basically an excuse again. all the charges against donald trump which could have been misdemeanors in new york city elevated two felonies. you wonder why republicans thank you cannot get a fair shake and the deck is stacked. it is unfair. that is why because of recent history. >> thank you so much. speaking of media manipulation, how is there no national discussion about what we saw this past weekend? 75 people were shot and 51
7:17 pm
separate instances in just one city. much of this violence tied to juneteenth celebrations. lake in willowbrook, illinois where one person is dead and 22 more were shot win multiple gunmen fired into the crowd. in milwaukee, six teens were shot as festivities wrapped up. the youngest was just 14. and is shooting in san diego left one man dead and another injured. joining me now florida congressman who sits on the house oversight. congressman, i'd have a feeling that if all of this violence and bloodshed happened during some celebration or anniversary of the constitution, people wearing colonial garb, we would hear more about it in the media. >> you are absolutely right. you would hear about it. the reason why it doesn't come up except on your show and shows like yours is because the big media does not care about what is going on in urban cities. they haven't cared for a very long time. the only thing they are concerned about are people who
7:18 pm
live in new york, chicago, la. are they going to vote democrat? as long as they do that everything will be well and good. you have this problem in the inner cities primarily because the radical left has made a decision a long time ago to completely abandon the criminal justice system and to use it as some weird tool of social engineering. it is not working. criminality has to be prosecuted. when you don't do that, when there is no accountability metrics, this is what occurs in too many cities too often in the united states. >> the media did not care about violence, but they did care about pushing warped narratives. watch this. >> voter suppression is happening in a way we haven't seen since jim crow. we should seriously take juneteenth as a time to ask the question, who missed the memo? who hasn't got it that we are supposed to be a country of equal protection under the law?
7:19 pm
what policies are not the establishing justice rather than establishing justice? >> what? didn't we have more people turning out in the last georgia election than ever before in u.s. history in a midterm election? didn't that happen? >> it absolutely happen. i don't know what william barr was talking about. at the end of the day they like to throw these dog whistles out there to scare black voters. the truth of the matter is that election laws in the united states especially in red states, there are no issues there. more importantly, democrat progressive policy has hurt black people in our country. we have a situation like the hunter biden stuff. that's a flat out joke. this guy did stuff and got a slap on the wrist. people in the inner city go to jail for a long time. he got the charge that you would pick up for a dime bag. it's ridiculous. if got to have real policy in our cities. the problem is progressive policy has continuously failed black people. when you don't take law and
7:20 pm
order seriously, who suffers? black americans and urban core doors. i assure you if one of the gunmen this weekend during the juneteenth celebration was a white guy against black people, it would be wall-to-wall coverage. but because it's not, nobody covers it. the media doesn't care and the democrats don't care. >> there some suggestion that this was all meant to throw a rent in donald trump saying this is all political with his prosecution. they did hold hunter biden accountable. it was misdemeanors, but they didn't pursue it. so now it will try to take that argument away from him. do you think that is believable? >> no. nobody believes that. everybody looks at what he got charged with. $1.2 million in tax evasion and you plead to two misdemeanors? give me a break. that's a flat out joke. ask wesley snipes and some other people who had to serve jail
7:21 pm
time for tax evasion. don't even get me started on the gun charge. kodak black and other people got sent to jail for two or three years for a similar situation. looks like he will take a walk. this is the two-tier system of justice in our country which is disgusting. what everybody really wants in our country is just apply the law evenly. it doesn't matter if you are hunter biden or hillary clinton. just be consistent. >> congressman, thanks so much. the missing submersible at the site of the titanic has around 30 hours left of breathable air. we have an update ahead. our legal eagles will dissect the hunter biden plea deal. plus the other hunter news that you might not have heard about.i stay there. r disease. that's why, at novo nordisk, we've spent a hundred years developing treatments to help unlock humanity's full potential. these are the greats: people living with, thriving with — not held back by — disease. they motivate us to fight diabetes and obesity,

7:25 pm
7:26 pm
this is a decent deal for hunter biden, but not an unusual deal. this doesn't look like a sweetheart deal. >> it seems like a fair deal to me. >> this is not a sweetheart deal, but pretty standard. it seems like a fair resolution. >> that's it. it's done. of course the media will try to say this is an ace they, like the doj, our invite and's back pocket.
7:27 pm
let me explain. the gun charge alone carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. but with this plea deal hunter is unlikely to see any jail time. congressman donaldson mentioned a few minutes ago that rapper kodak black was sentenced to over three years in prison. while each of the tax charges carry a maximum penalty of a year in prison, there is no expected jail time for hunter. but the situation from jersey shore fame was sentenced to eight months in prison for not paying his taxes. i guess it really does help when your daddy is president. former u.s. attorney brett tolman says that beyond the glaring double standard, the doj is violating its own internal policies. what's called the ashcroft memo requires that they charge the highest provable offense and seek consistent sentences with other cases brought by doj. if you can believe it, the contours of this deal may even be more corrupt than that. according to the free beacon a
7:28 pm
prosecutor on the team that struck the deal just years ago for a long time biden family friend who did business with hunter. oh my god. joining me now is solve eisenberg, former assistant u.s. attorney and mike davis president and founder of the article three project. back in april, it was reported that the doj was looking at four charges. is this right what we heard from all the commentators that this is just par for the course? the other two go away and this is how it all plays out? >> we don't have enough facts yet, laura, to know if it's a sweetheart deal. but it certainly a sweet deal for hunter biden. it doesn't look very normal to me at all. we don't have the plea agreement yet or what is called the factual basis which is part of it. i withhold final judgment. but i can tell you that it is
7:29 pm
unusual to let an individual get pretrial diversion on a felony gun charge particularly here where in addition to that you have got two tax misdemeanors that they have charge. i also want to make this point, which is he was charged with willful failure to pay taxes. that is a misdemeanor. but the felony of tax evasion takes very little additionally to prove. the only additional element there is that there is a affirmative active concealment. under the case law, the case law is brought on what the act could be. it could be as simple as lying to an irs agent or filling out something incorrectly on that tax return. so, all of that leads me to want to ask a lot more questions. the final question is, if you are going to give somebody a sweet deal like this, did you
7:30 pm
put him under oath and bring in people who might be investigating the broader biden family issues and say, buddy, if you want to deal like this, you will talk to us for a long time and proffer with us. >> mike, when you think about how this ends up playing out, it is a way for the democrats to say justice was done. this was a process in the process played out. and get it off the table for the election. that sounds very cynical i realize for me to say that. but given how people now a lot of people believe the justice department operates, you can understand that feeling. it's hard to imagine that a republican front runner's son with a felony gun charge would be able to sweep it under the rug with two years probation. >> justice was not done here. a cover-up was completed by the
7:31 pm
biden justice department. david weise who the left-wing media says was a trump appointee , it's not that simple. the two democratic senators in delaware picked him as their u.s. attorney. i was the chief counsel for nominations when he went through the process. i know they are the ones who picked him. david weise has sat on evidence about biden's corruption for years. he sat on evidence protecting hunter biden and joe biden for years. they come to this sweetheart deal where they are going to cover up and essentially cover-up 2017 and 2018 tax evasion by hunter biden and his business partner was joe biden win he allegedly took, they both allegedly took a $10 million bribe from burisma and changed u.s. policy. this is a cover-up, plain and simple. >> the doj says the investigation is ongoing. hunter biden's attorney feels
7:32 pm
differently. >> watch this. >> my understanding is we are done. there will be a court proceeding. there are agreements that come out about the court proceeding. i think everyone will see what happens once that occurs. >> would you make a deal if you thought more charges were coming? >> would i make a deal? no, i wouldn't. >> what do you make of that? >> sounds like he's a pretty good white-collar defense attorney and he certainly has a good deal for his client. i have heard the theory that the reason doj said that is because it is easier to resist congressional demands for information when you've got an ongoing investigation. i find that very plausible. again, when you talk about a possible further investigation, one thing for share, this is a very, very beneficial deal for hunter biden. i would like to know what they demanded of him and what forum
7:33 pm
under oath in front of a grand jury or recorded interview, in order to get his information. and did they even attempt to do that? i have talked about this for years when we talk about ig michael horowitz. it is how broadly you define the investigation from the beginning. it looks like this was defined very narrowly from what we can tell. >> again, mike, the cynic's thinking on this is if you didn't know better, he would think almost that joe biden knew it would play out this way. he very boldly took his son on that overseas trip recently. he's been out of the white house a lot. if you thought your son truly was vulnerable to jail time and a felony prosecution, maybe you wouldn't have done that? or are we just so negative on these law enforcement agencies and doj in particular? >> biden's attorney general wants president trump to die in
7:34 pm
prison over a fight with biden's librarians and bureaucrats over presidential records. biden's attorney general does not want the president's son to spend a day in prison for clear tax evasion and a clear gun felony. >> thank you both for being with us. >> while lincoln was busy groveling in china the ccp was making aggressive moves miles from our shoreline. you cannot make this up. it is terrifying and arguably the most important story in the country right now, next.

the ship is in critical danger. >> if they manage to selfless and they should have managed to have done it by yesterday. that proves that either the crew is not alive or the crew is alive, but they may be stuck somewhere. they may be caught in the wreck of the titanic or they could be caught in something as simple as a fishing net. we just don't know. >> that's horrifying. we will bring you more details as they come in tonight. >> you know the phrase keep your friends close but your enemies closer? joe biden appears to be doing just that. the wall street journal appearing that china is negotiating with cuba to establish a new joint military training facility on the island. what could be wrong with that? that means that chinese troops could end up being 100 miles off the coast of florida. secretary of state antony blinken doesn't seem too worried about it though because he has been clear.
7:41 pm
>> we were clear that we would have deep concerns about poc intelligence or activities in cuba. we thought engaging in a number of diplomatic efforts in that regard. i think they have had some success. this is something we will be monitoring very, very closely and we have been very clear about it. >> monitoring? really? this from a guy that just assured president xi jinping that we wouldn't get in their way of taking taiwan even if we tried the ccp knows about the biden administration is limited in what they would do. the new york times rights clashes between china and the u.s. have become much more acute over recent years as china's economic power has grows and the aides perceive the united states to be in terminal decline. i wonder why? joining me now florida congressman mike walz. congressman, this is the biggest news in the united states facing our country right now is what is happening in cuba.
7:42 pm
and our absolute indifference to this happening. no red line, no don't even think about it. we will be monitoring it. your reaction to this tonight? >> laura, let's let this sink in for a moment. you are right. this is a seminal historic moment. we are on the verge of having chinese communist party troops in the caribbean, 100 miles from the southern coast of florida. it is like taking me back to the 1980s, the movie red dawn where you had soviets and cubans invading the united states and taking a play right out of the soviet playbook. laura, this is a world right now where our enemies, our adversaries do not fear any consequences. they harass our planes and ships and break into our bases, spy on our nuclear facilities with a
7:43 pm
sophisticated balloon, not a silly balloon. and now put troops in our back door. they get rewarded with a meeting. it is truly astounding and dangerous. this is how wars start. if you contrast that to just a few years ago with trump, what happened there? iran hits the embassy and kills an american. the field general is dead. isis gets out of control and continues to attack us in europe. baghdad dead. the russians cross the red line in syria. 300 russian waggoner mercenaries wagoner mercenaries dead. and deterrence was restored. that is how you keep the peace. that is how you prevent wars. you have a bunch of academics right now like blinken, austin and others that think if i can just get them to the table and be nice enough and make enough concessions, then they will be kind of back. it could not be more dangerous.
7:44 pm
>> do you believe, which is what i believe, that the elite in washington and academia and wall street, they have actually come to terms with the fact that china has eclipsed the united states and they want to smooth things out? i call it a surrender because i think it is. i worked for president reagan as a young person in my early 20s. i think it is a surrender. how would you describe this? >> well, it's a quiet surrender with everybody making money on top of it, laura. all the establishment institutions that the democrats care the most about, academia, hollywood, sports industry, woke corporations on wall street. they believe america is fundamentally a bad country. number two, they have marxist roots in the sense of what is going on with she pushing socialism with characteristics. and number three they can keep the status quo and make the next bonus and next quarterly
