7:05 am
suspend my campaign. i said i wanted americans to have their voices heard. i have done that. i have no regrets. and although i will no longer be a candidate, i will not stop using my voice for the things i believe in. our national debt will eventually crush our economy. a smaller federal government is not only necessary for our freedom, it is necessary for our survival. the road to socialism is the road to ruin for america. our congress is dysfunctional and only getting worse. it is filled with followers, not leaders. term limits for washington politicians are needed now more than ever. our world is on fire because of america's retreat. standing by our allies in ukraine, israel and taiwan is a moral imperative. but it's also more than that. if we retreat further, there

7:12 am
she calls herself a conservative republican. the fact that someone like that with conservative credentials is not coming out and endorsing donald trump as the nominee underscores what i've been hearing from my sources on the haley sources and allies. saying trump can say the party is unified behind him but that is not in fact true when you have his lone rival yet endorsing him. and a challenge to her former boss, saying you have to win those voters back. and the unspoken part of that, savannah, is or else. you look at states like georgia or wisconsin, these are states that turn on a very slim margin of voters. even a portion of them staying home and not voting for the republican nominee could be substantial. that's a warning that we're going to look back on depending on how 2024 turns. was nikki haley right. >> that independent suburban mom string of the electorate often turns it. we'll see. ali thank you, we want to go to

7:14 am
it's a strategy clearly untested from trump but that's what you'll get to change his strategy to appeal to a bigger slice of the electorate. one of the advisers told me yesterday, why would they change, when they believe what they did worked perfectly in a primary. they don't intend a strategy shift like nikki haley has suggested here. and they're going to hope that joe biden simply pushes those voters back into the maga fold, savannah. >> we shall see if the winning primary strategy translates to the general election. the general election is on. that concludes this nbc news special report. we'll have much more streaming on nbc news now. nbcnews.co tonight on "nightly news." most of you will turn to "today." i am savannah guthrie. thank you for watching that sam considered an employee of his or her university, the university

to things and deals as well. that is also still available for people that weren't paying for this the big deal here is that free shipping. >> okay. they might roll out other perks as they go along. >> and delivery. i mean, same-day delivery, that's a big deal. >> it could be $10 in some cases for that same-day delivery at the moment >> okay. let's start with amazon. it obviously has a subscription service. let's compare. >> yeah. this is the more expensive one, but that's because amazon is huge $15 a month. it also includes free two-day shipping shipping is the big threat for all these prescription services. but because of amazon prime's video and music offerings, that is also part of the prime package as well. but they also have whole foods and groceries. there are a number of attachments to this packaging. then whole foods, you have a grubhub plus subscription for ordering at home it is also try before you pay. this is a big priority for amazon you can try something on and then you are not billed for seven days afterwards just so you can make sure it fits. >> you have walmart. they have a paid membership, too.
8:39 am
>> $12.95 a month. free shipping. in some cases you will also get free same day shipping as well it depends on what you are buying grocery delivery over $35 as well but walmart has a few bells and whistles in addition to the shopping as well you have the paramount plus subscription and a discount on gas. there are no gas stations at amazon and target. that's notable for those that subscribe to walmart plus as well. >> it would make sense to join all three. >> it would add up okay >> it would add up but what are other ways besides joining these programs >> yeah. in some of these programs you have a free trial. walmart, for example, you can do a 30-day free trial by signing up you want to remember what that 30-day date is so you can cancel beforehand
8:40 am
but there are also discounts available. you can get a pretty steep discount for that subscription i want to note here, it is not written down, but if you are on snap or wic, you can get a discounted walmart subscription as well. make sure you look before you actually sign up lastly, consider credit card perks. some people might be thinking about that credit card news and say, what about the red card you get 5% off using that credit card maybe that's a better option than signing up for the subscription just look at all the offerings out there before you ultimately sign up. >> brian, thank you. a lot of good information. a lot of good information. hoda, ov
