shoot things and like slow motion the way the not a lot of not a lot of people out there. it is chilly tonight and i feel like we're going to be stuck in this cold for quite a little yeah, winter is certainly here in the bay area. not only are we tracking rain but even snow. it's still out there this evening. >> for east bay hills tracking snow showers out there right now throughout the highest peaks. so, yeah, we're going to notice this cold winter blast continuing from now through wednesday. let's take a look at radar for a fairly dry calm conditions. aside from the east bay hill. so we are getting a little bit of a break from that wet weather. but futurecast for going to ms arriving sunday morning through sunday afternoon. bring us about a quarter of an inch of rain or less and even tracking some mountain snow for this where you're going to be under winter storm warning starting sunday morning through monday morning. monday's storm at this atmospheric river is going to be the strongest and most impactful because we're
9:18 pm
expecting about a quarter of an inch to three-quarters of an inch of rain with this storm alone. really peaking by your monday afternoon. so plan ahead. in addition to that snow levels dropping to as low as 500 feet just because of these cold core system. so by tuesday morning, through wednesday morning, that's going to be the 3rd and last round weaker than monday's storm. but it's still going to bring us widespread rain and even mountain snow. nonetheless, with our highest peaks in the east bay hills and even santa lucia mountains getting upwards of about 20 inches of rain or snow or less. and for us here in the bay area, rain totals with monday's storm already going up to an inch from sunday into monday. by wednesday, though, that some are going to see anywhere from half an inch to an inch and a half of rain. when it is all said and done double those amounts for our highest peaks. so let's take a look at temperatures today because even though we saw a few rays of sunshine, we
9:19 pm
really didn't warm up all that much. we were still about 5 to 15 degrees below average, especially those of you in livermore. only warming up to 48 degrees. so 15 degrees below normal there when we should be in the low to mid 60's this time of year. certainly not feeling like it, but we are tracking though, a fairly dry calm night out there. so if you are heading out this weekend, make sure to enjoy your saturday night because it is going to be the driest part of your night because by sunday we are going to notice the return of those rain showers, wind tracker for out there right now. fairly calm wind speeds getting a little bit of that cool sea breeze influence out of the west in oakland with 10 miles per hour sustained winds. temperatures out there right now. san mateo cooling down to 42 degrees. widespread mid 40's for everyone else. with the mid to upper 30's for coolest, inland valleys and daytime highs tomorrow. little change still in the low to mid 50's in livermore holding steady in the upper 40's. so rain and snow showers going to continue for the most part
9:20 pm
through tuesday. by wednesday morning. we're going to start to dry and clear out and wednesday afternoon, temperatures partly cloudy skies rebounding in the mid-fifties. but we are going to see some warmer, drier weather by the end of next week. really looking for that 5th, those 56 days. hiding mostly 7 minutes only the next yeah. enjoy that one of those day you really have to have let layers because you guess and it's hot. you know, you get really but as soon as you step in the shade, freezing cold, you feel like you're in new york? yeah. i think new york finally got snow this weekend because there is a long stretch. we beat you know, it's so much colder there, though. this is this is tolerable. this is nice california snow. all right. thanks. a lot breeze so well, 2 people had to be rescued from an overturned truck that went over a >> snowy embankment in placer county near. are fire.

9:32 pm
winter storm warning starting sunday morning through monday morning by 10 o'clock monday morning that winter storm warning is going to be replaced by a blizzard warning several feet of snow expected right now within the last 4 days alone. this year has gone 2 to 4 feet of fresh, fresh powder. but in the coming days, we're going to double those amounts easily with the next 3 rounds of atmospheric river. so right now, sierra starting to dry out and clear out from those snow showers. but we're going to get another round of snow starting sunday morning. that's going to continue through monday morning. and then by monday afternoon, that is going to be the peak of the atmospheric river with some more snow showers arriving tuesday morning. and then once again by tuesday afternoon, as you could see, snow showers just blanketing the sierra once again. so that's what we're going to be under a blizzard warning elevations above 7,000 feet, you could get 4 to 6 feet of fresh powder for the
