floor had to contend with something more than just the occasional power outage. that was lots of snow. as a result, the napa county office of emergency services issued a shelter in place advisory. like most area residents, napa folk are not used to local driving on what can be extremely slippery. still. or the underlying ice have since issued an update, and basically, we want people to be cautious because of the recent weather and the impact on the road specifically in the unincorporated parts of the county, especially west of highway 29, east of silverado trail county lacks any significant snow plow capabilities. quite a few roads in the higher elevations were closed highway 29 over mount st helena was closed not only due to snow, but a number of fallen trees that completely blocked the road on my phone tells me that we're at 1400 ft, which is

some major traffic headaches as ktvu mallicoat shows us. the alameda county fire department had to assist with more than 100 cars that were stopped on patterson past road because of winter storm conditions in livermore. we knew it was going to be a little frosted, but we didn't realize it was going to smell rihanna, eddie and her husband, derek, on the purple orchid bed and breakfast in livermore. just up, patterson pass everyone at the purple orchid, including the couple's two young kids woke up to a winter wonderland. friday morning was pretty exciting this morning for our kids and our you know guests that woke up and there was snow on the ground. they immediately got dressed and ran outside. and then, um, they got out their sleds, and they were kinda sled down the hillside that we have the snow blanket at their nearly 20 acres of olive trees, which they say won't be impacted by the cold weather because they are hardy and can withstand extreme

85 miles from los angeles. now my cameraman and i, kyle, we've been documenting our trip from the santa corita valley out here to victorville and we filed this report. at sunrise, the snow began to melt along the 14 freeway near acton and snow dusted the hills of lancaster on a rainy gold friday in february. history making storm pummeled the southland, pushing surging water a half foot deep in plastering canyon in the santa corrida valley. as i was driving here to the store. i noticed a little river along the side of the road, and i have never seen that before, so it's really raining. the storm caused the national weather service to issue a flash flood warning until 10 o'clock friday night. by afternoon an inch and a half of rain had already been recorded in santa korea. the shoppers in santa corita tried to shake off the deluge while

for parts of so cal. i want to talk about that when we can see it's windy where you are. can you describe the driving conditions for you all getting around the southern california area? well you know, you have to be careful and it really depended where you were, because this is a fast moving storm. i've lived in southern california my entire life and can only remember maybe one other time where it actually snowed where i grew up in the santa credo valley, and you can imagine how much fun that is for a young kid to run outside and see the snow. so a lot of people are enjoying the weather, but they are advising people if you don't have to go out. to stay in to be very careful after i leave where we are right now i'm going to head over to the hardware store and find out what people are doing to protect their personal property. but the best thing, of course, is just to be very slow on the road and to be aware that you have to be very cognizant of the fact that the roadways are slippery and wet. greg good advice there from our laura diaz from our sister
