was wanted for at least seven burglaries in the north county area, and that his accomplice also of baltimore was wanted for at least two burglaries in the same area. in fact, those burglaries happened just before the fatal crash. >> it is a shame the whole thing had to happen. i guess part of the times we live in. the crime is everywhere now, no matter where you go. >> neighbors in shock after a violent crash near delaney road and id church road. when the wreckage was cleared, the accused burglar was dead. his accomplice in custody, and three innocent people injured. police say the burglaries what were what led to the crash. >> we are extremely gratified

that the innocent people who got caught up in this tragic accident did not suffer more serious injuries than they did. >> police tell us they have been investigating seven different burglaries since last friday and believe he is responsible for all of them. toliver was an accomplished on two just before the crash. a homeowner in the 3200 block of vance road pulled into his driveway and notice on the sitting there and saw a man coming out of his house. >> the victim was able to get a license plate number and called police. >> we noticed tire tracks through a lawn that led to the road. >> police aviation took over. we also understand minutes

before the crash, police noticed a suspect bailing out of the car, but he was later apprehended. then, just after 3:00, the driver attempted to swerve around a blue jeep and crossed the center yellow line, striking the jeep and an oncoming truck, then crashed into a telephone pole. further investigation revealed the honda the suspects were in was stolen from howard county. the three other people involved in the crash received only minor injuries. still, quite a scare for folks in north county. >> i had no idea of the magnitude of the tragedy. my goodness, somebody died. >> toliver was charged with first-degree burglary. we also understand police from other jurisdictions are looking into the possibility that he has been involved with other burglaries. we're live of baltimore county police headquarters. >> thank you.

police have arrested a security guard accused of stealing nearly $100,000 in jewelry and cash from a kiosk in a mall. surveillance footage help them track down john thomas cook. police believe he may have had an accomplice and charges are now pending. today baltimore city police commissioner defended his budget, something he may have to do before the baltimore city council in just a few monthss attempts are made to close a big deficit. the city has one of the highest per capita budgets in the country. today he said the city's murder rate is also among the country's worst, and his department has already made sacrifices. >> their pension rolls and went from being able to retire with 20 years' service to now 25 years of service. you would not find people inside

as this first batch of rain returns tonight, temperatures may be settling down into the 30's. we will have to keep a close eye out for the tier. we could see numbers up here where 39 in steward's down and parked in. these temperatures could get close to freezing as the rain arrives around midnight. at least potential for a little sweet mixed and initially when the rain comes in. most of this will be rain. for our region, at times of rain continue into thursday afternoon. it looks like it could the right on into friday morning. rain developing tomorrow. times of rain tomorrow. even with the rain in the area, temperatures still above normal again. 10 hours of daylight tomorrow. the days are slowly getting longer.

welcomed snow returns on friday to the ski slopes. 50's friday. and could see temperatures getting close to 60 on friday. that brings a slight chance of a thunderstorm for those locations. bay water temperatures critical for folks heading down to the polar bear plunge. this time of year we did see temperatures in the low 30's, but right now temperatures and 40's. the low over the weekend this front arrives from the north and west and temperatures will get the little colder. 54 as the rain ends friday. close to 60 saturday, and back to cold conditions. for reasons no possible sunday and monday with highs in the 30's. >> this is 11 sports.
