the sierra snowpack survey, conditions are improving. how much might this storm help and is there any downside, though, to getting so much snow in so little time? >> absolutely. we've seen a lot of improvement going from about 28% in january 1st up to 80% of our statewide snowpack to date. we've seen a lot of fantastic improvement. this storm, it's likely that it will take many, if not all, locations up above 100% for this time of year. with that said, we're only at 70% of our april 1st average. we really want this storm to come in big. the big drawback to having so much snow in a relatively short amount of time is likely the avalanche danger. people staying inside away from their homes or staying inside their homes i should say and not traveling, that will help with a lot of the danger out and about, but we will have those increased avalanche danger risks in the backcountry. >> a lot of folks at home may be wondering, all right, i can't go up today or tomorrow. do you anticipate a good time to go up and maybe appreciate some of the snow
