coming up >>> we want to take you to the san mateo county coast where the touring terrain is not the only problem tonight. >> we are joined live from half moon bay to see what the wind has done. you are in the thick of it right now. >> reporter: the rent has been touring nonstop since 4:00 here in half moon bay. as you mentioned, it's not just the rain but the gusty wind causing raindrops to go sideways. as a result, we are seeing a lot of downed trees and power lines in the area. i want to show you some video, as well of this cypress tree that toppled over a few hours ago. the base of this tree is about 12 feet in diameter. it's about 50 to 60 feet tall. this tree is surrounded by apartments and townhomes. luckily, it landed in the courtyard. nobody was hurt. at the nearby town of moss beach, a tree limb snapped and landed on a power line. this happened around 3:00 on california avenue. firefighters suspect the high wind caused it to break . back to half moon bay , a small tree uprooted and landed on power lines around 4:00 this afternoon. pg&e workers are there now working to try t

this is the san mateo bridge. it's pretty heavy for holiday monday, but nonetheless, there's no bad weather out there. no raindrops on the lens i know surprisingly. and finally, right, we're getting some relief and a much-needed deserved break from the wet weather. let's take a look at just how much rain we've gotten just within the last 24 hours alone. oakland, the winner, an inch and a half of rain. slightly less than that for downtown san francisco livermore and even redwood city. so this storm certainly benefited the southern portions of the bay area in and around the bay area shoreline. so we're all benefiting from these atmospheric rivers. and right now, downtown san francisco, it is currently the 6th wettest water year to date since october. first, we're already tracking more than 21 inches of rain. 202% of normal. so yeah, it's safe to say our water year is off to a great start. and let's take a look at when tracker for calmer wind speeds out there right now in downtown san francisco, sustained at 18 miles
